Manoa Falls

  • Manoa Falls Trail
Probably one of my most requested trails regarding information, and one of my favorites. Consists of a path that winds through a rain forest to a waterfall (Manoa Falls) near the base of the Ko'olaus. Great for a family hike.

    Type of hike: Valley

Located at the very back of Manoa Valley on Oahu's Leeward Side.

Trail Length: 2 miles round trip

Drive to the end of Manoa Road past the Lyon Arboretum. Park and cross the foot-bridge to the trailhead. This trail is the start of three trails: Manoa Falls, Luaalaea, and Aihualama.

    Access: Public Trail

This trail is rated as EASY.
It's going to be pretty muddy, though, usually is. Don't wear your best clothes.

Hazards: beware of falling rocks from above the waterfall, shouldn't be too much of a problem though

    • Always: sturdy shoes, water, cell phone
Additionally: bring some towels for the seats in your car afterwards, a swimsuit is good too if you plan to swim at the falls, lunch there is nice too

Bring a swimsuit, after the muggy and humid hike, the waterfall will call to you.

No matter how easy the hike, always BE CAREFUL, the Sacred Falls landslide is a good example.

Around Oahu and the editor take no responsibility for any of this stuff, it's that simple.
